He decided to return to in-person learning this year and we are still trying to adjust.  He even passed out early on Friday night. SoCal was issued a hurricane warning, the first time in a long time.  It was downgraded to Tropical Storm. The rain started as I typed, and boy, it's making me sleepy. This Week I can't believe it's August already.  My Mom celebrated her birthday on the first. I didn't get to see her on her birthday but she did come down for the weekend. This Week This heatwave has been unpleasant, to say the least. The first appointment to fix the A/C was pushed back to last week. So we suffered a week with temps in the 90's and no A/C.  W hen they finally came out the initial technician was able to get the cool air flowing but another technician would have to officially solve the issue. We need a coil replaced. So while the unit is cooling down the house once the coil is replaced it will start properly working.   I'm officially over summer.  I'm ready for cooler weather. I spent some time with my Grandmother, aunts, and uncles; we were able to see the fireworks from the Rose Bowl. Thankfully, temps were in the 80's, and have stayed there because the A/C needs to be serviced. The appointment is set for Monday afternoon and I hope it all goes smoothly. Last Two Weeks Last Saturday I spent time with my mom's family. It was my aunt's birthday and we celebrated Father's Day as well. A few days later my other brother turned twenty. He was in town but Disneyland bound.  A few days later my mom came into town. We got to spend Friday together. We grabbed some lunch after her routine dr.'s appointment.  I also took a small walk around the area where her dr.'s office is, while I waited for her.  I haven't walked around town in such a long time, this little outing made me realize how much I miss it. Not for any reason in particular. I just couldn't stay on top of things.  I've fallen behind on reviews and prepping my blog spots ahead of time.  Then I had an issue with my kindle unlimited subscription and it was canceled before the end of the month. I was ready to finally take the leap and sign-up for the two-year subscription deal but the website makes it impossible to find.  I lost all the books I had queued to read. This Week I missed two weeks of The Sunday Post because of course I didn't prepare them ahead of time and I totally let my journaling slip, so I had to go back and fill in what I'd done.  My baby brother turned 15 on March 9th. My mom came into town and we all went to dinner together. He requested sushi and it was so good. My mom was in town again last weekend because my aunt's funeral was held on Monday.  It's been nice having this extra time with her even if it's not under the best circumstances. This Week We got a short break from the rain last Sunday. Then more rain Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. We finally saw the Sun on Thursday but it's been cold. So cold that I've planned meals that must be cooked low and slow. Anything to keep a constant heat source going besides the heater.
