This Week I did not mean to take this long between posting a Sunday Post. Last week, the temperatures here were in the 80s, and they are dropping down to the mid-50s this week. I'm happy it'll be cooler again. I've slowly started to purge some things.  I started a box for clothing. I'm filling the recycle bin.  I had to visit the DMV twice. I needed to upgrade to the RealID. I started the 100 Day Project. Reading took a backseat as we dealt with evacuating and getting back home.  I've been back in my house for a week now but we've had no gas. So no heat, hot water or cooking. It's been a little hectic but I'm lucky. My Aunt, Uncle and cousins lost their home in the fire. Altadena might not be my hometown but it is my neighbor and it's overwhelming to see it destroyed. I tried savoring them as much as possible, especially with my Mom and brother in town. We went out to dinner on Friday for my 46th birthday. We had Vietnamese and it was delicious. These last few days of the month feel like they are flying by. I don't feel ready to ring in the New Year. My plan is to snuggle up on the couch and read. This Week I caught a cold early in the week, so I was dealing with fever, body aches, and congestion. It meant a lot of sleeping and a few days of not cooking, which I was grateful for. This Week I used the oven a few times these past two weeks. It got quite chilly this week. Halloween was over way too fast. My ballot is filled out and all I have to do is drop it off. I was able to bake, it was a Pillsbury Cinnamon Bun Cake Mix. Very Yummy! I also made my first soup of the season, Chicken mushroom and wild rice soup , also yummy. And I got to wear cozy sweaters! Fall decorations are still not out but I did spend some time decluttering. I'm taking it in small sections at a time. This Week It was in the 90s all week and today is the last day of the heatwave. I've said it before but I'll say it again, I'm so over the heat. I even got to wear a light sweater. The teenager caught a cold and spent the last two days of the week in bed. He's also masked up when we're in the same room to avoid getting me sick. So we spent the week getting things prepared for school. We got school supplies, and he got a haircut. I'll be back to making sandwiches this week for him so we'll be working on getting back into a rhythm.  I'm still managing to get on the yoga mat. And I'm looking for spooky shows to watch as we eek our way towards fall.
