I took a little break from blogging the last two weeks of the year. It wasn't my intention, but I'm glad it happened. My mom and brother arrived on Christmas Eve.  We spent time with my grandmother and the extended family that evening. On the Saturday after Christmas, we went to my uncle's home for an extended Christmas gathering and my birthday. It was fun but it did interrupt the reading I had planned. This Week  The last few weeks have been HOT.  Luckily for me, that meant minimal cooking. I'm ready for fall temps. I want to bake, drink hot chocolate, and wear cozy sweaters. I'm enjoying my library card/Libby app. It's helped me read a few more audiobooks. I got to read the last book in a series that wasn't available on KU yet. My baby brother registered on Tuesday for his senior year. While he did that, I renewed my library card and spent some time reading in the library. I even downloaded the Libby app, so I can check out e-books or audiobooks. I've already borrowed a title from my long TBR. We also applied for our passports. This Week My mom has been in town for the last two months. Sadly, she is heading back to her house later today. My other brother has also been in town and we got to celebrate his birthday with him. Mom will be back in August. A cute cat I saw on Insta. This month has been wild. I had to get a newish phone because my old one fell into a bucket of water. Thank goodness for the phone insurance. I went to an uncle's funeral. He was the last of my grandfather's brothers. Being in the L.A. area means it's been stressful with all the kidnappings happening around here. This Week I can't believe the last time I did a Sunday Post was in March! I've been dog sitting since the first week of May. I do this yearly for my grandmother. Lulu is sweet and pretty easy. She's fourteen and has plenty of puppy moments between naps. I'm still working in purging stuff around the house. The 100 Day Project is done but I'm still working my way through the challenge and I started the ICAD challenge. I have two audiobooks started for the June Audiobook Challenge. This Week I did not mean to take this long between posting a Sunday Post. Last week, the temperatures here were in the 80s, and they are dropping down to the mid-50s this week. I'm happy it'll be cooler again. I've slowly started to purge some things.  I started a box for clothing. I'm filling the recycle bin.  I had to visit the DMV twice. I needed to upgrade to the RealID. I started the 100 Day Project. I tried savoring them as much as possible, especially with my Mom and brother in town. We went out to dinner on Friday for my 46th birthday. We had Vietnamese and it was delicious. These last few days of the month feel like they are flying by. I don't feel ready to ring in the New Year. My plan is to snuggle up on the couch and read. This Week I caught a cold early in the week, so I was dealing with fever, body aches, and congestion. It meant a lot of sleeping and a few days of not cooking, which I was grateful for.
