Review: The Next Best Fling by Gabriella Gamez

Image
Two broken hearts decide that the best way to get over their first loves is with a no-strings-attached relationship in this spicy and charming debut romance. Librarian Marcela Ortiz has been secretly in love with her best friend for years—and when he gets engaged, she knows it’s long past time to move on. But before she gets the chance, she has a bigger problem to contend with in the form of Theo Young, ex-NFL player and older brother of the man she’s in love with. When she discovers Theo's plans to confess his feelings for his brother’s fiancée at their engagement party, Marcela is quick to stop him—despite how tempting it is to let him run away with the bride-to-be. She manages to convince Theo to sleep off his drunken almost-mistake at her place and when they arrive at a family brunch the next day together, everyone wrongly assumes they hooked up. Since Theo needs a cover for his feelings for the bride and Marcela needs a distraction from her unrequited feelings for the groom,...

Finished Book Series: The Skyland Series by Kennedy Ryan

Image
The series as a whole was wonderful. These couples are not without their own individual hardships but they find a way to make their love work and grow, while still managing to support their friendships. The first book I was lucky enough to receive an ARC. Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan My rating: 5 of 5 stars Emotional and beautiful. I did oddly find myself wanting to put the blame on someone for the end of their marriage. And finding out that this was all because of grief finally got me out of that mindset. I liked that this couple had history. Seeing Josiah work through his fears/grief in therapy was good, especially after his initial reluctance. After a series of tragic losses and the grief that came from those losses, Yasmen asks her husband Josiah for a divorce. Yasmen's life is now moving at a better pace. She's co-parenting with Josiah and running a business together. These ensure involvement in each other's life. Even though they are divorced they still love e...

Release Blitz: The Way We Collide by Tia Louise

Image
The Way We Collide by Tia Louise is now live! Football is my life. I'm not interested in marriage or babies or poopy diapers. Yet here I am, standing in front of a judge saying "I do," with a six-month-old on my hip and an aspiring storm-chaser on my arm. From the time I was a little boy, sleeping with my head on a football, I've had one goal: carrying on the Bradford-family legacy. Our famous father trained all my older brothers and me to be star athletes just like him, but seven years later, I'm the only one still focused on the game. Until Raven Gale storms into my life. She's smart, sassy, curves for days, and lightning in the sack. When I met her at my little sister's wedding we bonded immediately over our dedication to our dreams, our determination to let nothing stop us, and our insatiable, all-night, barrier-busting chemistry. A baby girl is a surprise neither of us expected, but Raven has a plan. We'll have a quickie marriage to secure her tru...

Rekindle your belief in the magic of first love and the charm of small towns with Annie England Noblin’s delightful friends-to-lovers romantic comedy, perfect for readers of Jill Shalvis and Sarah Adams. Spring is in the air and Mylie has everything she could ever want: her tackle shop is thriving and employs a third of Clay Creek, Arkansas, and she lives with her beloved Granny and little sister Cassie, who both keep her on her toes. As tourists pour into town for the annual fishing tournament, Mylie is in her element and ready to bring her all-women team to victory. After moving to Chicago, Ben never thought he would return to Clay Creek. But with both his grandfather and mother gone, he’s left to deal with their estate. His plan is simple: come in quietly, fix up his lakeside childhood home, sell it quickly, and get out. He underestimates how quickly his arrival will stir up the local gossip, and how intensely his unresolved feelings for Mylie, his childhood best friend, will ...
