Release Blitz: Better Not Pout by Maren Moore

Better Not Pout by Maren Moore is now live!

A sugar-filled, fake holi-dating, small town romance filled with heat, heart, a couple of temperamental weenie dogs, and heaps of holiday cheer from USA Today Bestselling Author Maren Moore.

A lost letter to Santa gone terribly wrong…or perfectly right?
As the owner of my family’s vintage candy shop, there are two things I’m great at: Sweet treats and Christmas.
Love on the other hand?
Not so much.
So when my best friend insists we write letters to Santa asking for our dream men for Christmas, I figure it’s just a bit of holiday fun…until my letter mysteriously disappears.

And then Wells McCoy moves in next door.
Retired hockey player. New bar owner. Ridiculously handsome.
Infuriatingly expert at pushing all of my buttons.
And somehow, he checks off nearly every box from my dream man wish list.

When Wells unexpectedly steps in to help me save face in front of my ex, we strike a deal: A little fake holi-dating to get us both through the season. No feelings and no strings.
But between confusing mistletoe kisses, cozy nights with his family, and chemistry that feels anything but fake, lines start to blur.
Suddenly, fake feels a lot like falling.

And with the clock ticking down to Christmas, I can’t help but wonder: was it all just a sweet coincidence… or is this Christmas magic after all?

My Review

Better Not Pout
by Maren Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this Christmas novella.

Rosalie and her best friend are having a drink when Kennedy decides that they should write letters to Santa for their dream man. Every year, locals come into her grandparents' candy store, Sweet Sullivan, and leave a letter for Santa. In the past, her grandparents answered the letters; now it's Rosalie's job. She wishes for a hot lumberjack who loves dogs.

The next morning, when she goes to retrieve the letters, they've disappeared. The empty store next to the candy store has recently been sold, and she storms in, thinking her new neighbor has stolen the letters.

The new bar owner is Wells McCoy. Former hockey player, and the man of her dream wish list. And he knows just how to push her buttons.

When her ex comes into the candy store with his new fiancée, Wells steps in pretending to be her new boyfriend, so they strike a deal. They'll continue to fake date through the holidays to help him when he goes to spend time with his family.

It's supposed to be fake with no feelings or strings, but the more time they spend together, the more things start to feel real.

Thanks so much to the author and Valentine PR for this ARC to review.
