I had to take a minute to collect myself after I finished this book, it was so good. Lola was such an interesting character, I was chomping at the bit to learn her backstory. Alma was the right amount of sweetness needed between scenes. And I'll admit it took me a little longer to warm up to Santiago.

One night while working Lola witnesses a murder and her quiet existence goes up in smoke. She's thrust into the world of Santiago Hernandez, a ruthless cartel leader.

He does something out of character and lets her live. He plans to watch her, waiting for her to break her promise.

The longer she stays in his world, the deeper she falls for the glimpses of the man she sees under his cunning exterior. His touch awakens a long-lost part of her.

She shouldn't open my heart to a cold-blooded criminal, especially when he doesn't know who she really is. When all the lies unfold, her secrets will be revealed, and what does that mean for their budding relationship?
