I could not put this down!
Lyla finally gets her man and Vance is the perfect guy for her.
Lyla has watched all her siblings fall in love and start families. Meanwhile, she's been married to the job. Her sister stages an intervention and kicks her out of the coffee shop, after weeks without a day off. Not wanting to sit on the couch all day, she sets out on a hike.
There she spots a hunter washing blood from his hands in a stream. Just as she's about to call out, he sees her and charges her way wrapping his hands around her throat. Just as her vision begins to blur, he lets go.
Shaken beyond belief, she calls for help.
A few days later, Vance Sutter arrives in town looking for the very man who attacked her.
He's ruggedly handsome and just as mysterious. He should check in with the local authorities but that would lead to too many questions he doesn't want to answer.
He'll be gone as soon as he gathers as many clues as he can, but there's no denying the chemistry between him and Lyla.
She'll help him retrace her steps on the hiking trail, hoping it will help her deal with/overcome this traumatic event.
