Wow, that first half had me in tears! I really wanted to hate Brodan for how awful he was to Monroe but you know hurt people, hurt people. When we finally get all the information it was easier to understand why he was quick to lash out but it was still hard to see him treat Roe so harshly.
But we did get a good grovel from him after. And again I got teary when he finally expressed how he'd really felt for Monroe all these years.
I can't wait for Walker and Sloane's book!
Monroe was once best friends with Brodan Adair until one night everything changed. It drove them both to stay away from Ardnoch. Monroe had stayed away for eighteen years but when her mother suffers an accident she returns to help her, assuming Brodan rarely returns home.
But Brodan has finally decided to step back and take a break from his blockbuster acting career. He needs time with his family. What he doesn't anticipate is running into his former best friend.
They try their best to avoid running into each other until his nephew's request forces them to work together. It's not easy and after an explosive exchange, they finally begin to confront the past.
