Listening Length:13 hours and 14 minutes

Narrator: Kristin Atherton

A girl confronts Death—and her own deathly powers—in this Gothic-infused, romantic young adult fantasy.

Nineteen-year-old Signa Farrow, orphaned as a baby, has been raised by a string of guardians, each more interested in her wealth than her well-being—and each has met an untimely end. Her last remaining relatives are the Hawthornes, an eccentric family living at the glittering and gloomy estate of Thorn Grove. Thorn Grove’s patriarch, Elijah, mourns his late wife, Lillian, through wild parties and drink, while eldest son Percy grapples for control of the family’s waning reputation and daughter Blythe suffers from the same mysterious illness that killed her mother. And when Lillian’s spirit confronts Signa and claims she was poisoned, Signa realizes that Blythe could be next to die.

Signa’s best chance of uncovering the culprit and solving Lillian’s murder is an alliance with Death himself—the very man she hates most. And Death, that fascinating, dangerous shadow who has never been far from her side, shows her that their connection may be more powerful than she ever dared imagine.

My Review
Belladonna by Adalyn Grace
My rating: 5 of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I enjoyed this via audiobook.
This narrator was fantastic! I enjoyed it so much that I was able to read the book in three long stretches. And I did speed to audio up a bit.
I also want to point out that this cover is gorgeous!
The reveals were great. I was never too preoccupied with who the poisoner/murderer was but I did have my suspicions about Death.
This does end on a bit of a cliffhanger but the next book is supposed to be out in January.
I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Signa Farrow was orphaned nineteen years ago and has been raised by various guardians more interested in her wealth than actually caring for her. Oh, and they've all met an untimely death.

Her last remaining relatives are the Hawthornes. They live on the Thorn Grove estate. Elijah, the patriarch is mourning the death of his wife Lillian, through parties and drinking. His son Percy is trying to take his place running the family business and daughter Blythe is suffering from the same mysterious illness that killed their mother.

This means that Death is lingering around. When Signa runs into Lillian's spirit, she learns that Lillian was poisoned. This means that someone, maybe even the person who poisoned Lillian is now poisoning Blythe.

Signa reluctantly turns to Death. Someone she hates and blames for the deaths that have happened around her. But the more time she spends with him the more she's realizing that their connection powerful than she ever imagined.

Thank you so much to the author and Hachette Audio for this ARC to review.
