Release Date: June 14

At eighteen, Poe Blyton’s life is in shambles and the reason is Alaric Marshall.

After her mom’s death, he appeared out of nowhere and became Poe’s controlling guardian. When she protested his tyranny, he had the audacity to send her away to an all-girls reform school. A school full of iron-clad rules and regulations.

But at least she’s graduating soon.

Until Alaric himself arrives at the school as the new principal and takes that away from her as well.

That devil.

He’s really asking for it, isn’t he?

And Poe is going to give it to him.

It doesn’t matter that her sworn enemy has the prettiest dark eyes she’s ever seen. Or that he looks really, really good in his boring tweed jackets. So much so that she wants to rip them off his body and see what’s underneath.

Because scorching hot or not, her new principal or not, Poe is going to ruin Alaric’s life.

NOTE: This is a complete STANDALONE set in the world of St. Mary’s Rebels.

My Review

Hey, Mister Marshall
by Saffron A. Kent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

So on paper, this has all the tropes I love:
Enemies to Lovers
Guardian/Ward
AgeGap
He's grumpy
But I never connected with this couple.

After her mother's death, Poe Blyton is sent to live with Alaric Marshall, now her guardian. All she wants is some attention, she knows her mother never loved her and her guardian doesn't hide his feelings of disdain. This only pushes him to be stricter and step back letting the household staff deal with her until he finally sends her away to St. Mary's.

Four years later, Alaric has returned from abroad and Poe is eighteen and about to graduate. But Alaric ruins her plans when he becomes the new principal of St. Mary's and holds up her graduation in order for her to raise her grades.

It's unfair so Poe decides to change the way she interacts with him in hopes that he'll let her finish summer school sooner rather than later.

This shift leads to them seeing each other in a different light. Especially for Poe, who finally realizes that all the things he did, he did to protect her.

Thanks so much to the author and Wildfire for this ARC to review.
