My Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Loving at 40 by L.B. Dunbar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After a few mentions of Archer in previous books, we finally meet him! And he did not disappoint.
I enjoyed their initial meeting. Their chemistry was intense and pretty steamy with each encounter. There were a few scenes that got me in my feelings. I really enjoyed this from beginning to end and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

We are introduced to Jenna as she comes awake to find a man hovering over her and asking what she's doing in his bed. He gives her a cute nickname as well, Locks. She quickly realizes this is Anna's brother Archer and explains that she's there to visit Anna and was offered his apartment. She should be scared but she isn't and when she fully wakes up she leaves him in the bed to go stay with her girls in the spare bedroom.

The next morning they try to straighten things out. Anna offers her home to Jenna and the girls but Archer says they can stay put. It comes out of nowhere, but he knows he wants to keep them close.

There are a few heart-stopping scenes that take place while Jenna and the girls are visiting Lakeside and every time Archer jumps into action to protect the girls.

Archer has been away for quite some time. He's a DEA agent, whose been working undercover for the last five years. He certainly didn't have a problem finding the single mother in his bed. He begins to feel a fierce protectiveness over the little family never expecting to fall for them when his past comes back to haunt him.

He has to abruptly leave.

Months later he's on her doorstep and ready to show her he's here to stay.

Thank you so much to the author for this ARC to review.
