I can't wait for the next book!
I was holding my breath the entire time I was reading this book! The tension was strong in this one.

We pick up almost immediately where the last book left off but from Judge's perspective. The bedsheets dangling from the window were just discovered and it's a race to find Mercedes.

She's in his grandfather's punishment room being battered by his brother. It takes weeks for her to recover and just as long for him to gain some of her trust back.

He's still trying to keep her at arm's length but decides to let her non Society friends visit. This leads him to discover that she's not safe. Someone is still out there looking for her and wants revenge.

And the leaders of the Society are looking for Mercedes to be brought in to stand trial for the transgressions she committed. He steps in to protect her and this gives her time to slip away.

What no one knows is that she's keeping a secret. One that will soon be too hard to conceal.
She made the decision that its time to pick up and get as far away as possible from her family, Judge, and the Society.
