I love that Cord finally finds his scent mate and their mate. We also get a little bit of a mystery as they dig into Nash's past and how he ended up away from the Two Marks pack.

And I never would have suspected that we'd see her ex again in the book.

Rachel has been living a life that doesn't feel like it's her own. For years her family has been pushing her towards the son of their family friends. They've molded her into being the perfect senator's wife. She's ready to put her foot down and when she goes to dinner with her boyfriend, she gets this funny feeling, and when she spots the congratulations banner she bolts.

She makes her way to West Springs and is waitressing at the local diner when she meets Cord. The local doctor and Two Marks pack member. He's surprised at his reaction to Rachel, especially because he'd never found his scent mate. Now that he's found her he's not willing to let her go. So he invites her to the pack barbeque.

Nash is visiting from another pack, after helping a former pack member move into the area. When he makes his way outside he catches the scent of his fated mate. But she's already there with someone else and they're both willing to fight for her.

But the pack leader suspects that the men might just be scent mates.
