“So where do you want me?” I asked. I meant for my voice to sound calm, detached, but instead, it came out breathless and needy.
His lips quirked as if he was entertained by the question.
“Where do you want to be, Brianna?” he replied in a challenge. I watched him, unwilling to jump into that trap. It wasn’t as if I had a choice here. “Did you enjoy last night?” he asked in a smooth, rich voice and my pussy, the damn traitor that she was, instantly ached with need.
“Did you?” I answered with the question instead. Damn it, Marissa would kill me if she knew this was enfolding in this manner.
“I did,” he answered, lowering his head and taking my chin between his fingers. His touch was surprisingly gentle. “If I recall correctly,” he murmured inches from my lips, “you asked for my cock.”

I could not get enough of this book. I absolutely hated having to put this down to do anything. This is a steamy age-gap mafia romance and a little murder mystery, it's mainly Brianna and Mateo's story but we do get a few chapters from the POV of other characters. There were at least two scenes that left me breathless. I think I actually swooned when he told her he'd kill and burn the world for her.
Brianna is a single mother with my close family but she does have two best friends that make up her found family. Both of her friends grew up in the mafia and try to keep it from touching her and her daughter Emma.
A new job leads her to literally bump into Mateo. Head of the family. His green eyes captivate her and her candor charms him. They have a few more run-ins before he figures that she's working for his younger brother prompting him to move her to work for him. But really his plan is to make her his.
Pretty soon their secrets from the past come back to haunt them.
