I'm sad it's over, I even cried a little. Not just there either a few parts in this story had me in my feels. But I enjoyed every second of it.
Loved Vera and Mateo's story so much that I almost read the whole book in one sitting.
After living on the run, Vera Gallagher craves consistency. But she doesn't want to remember what caused her and her father to run. It hurts too much and she's afraid to let it out. So she focuses on enjoying her newfound freedom.
Her crush on Mateo Eden might seem silly to some because it's one-sided but Vera doesn't care, it's him or nothing.
He's handsome, charming, and loves his family but most importantly he doesn't treat Vera like she's broken. But she does have plenty of secrets.
She'll love him from afar whether he realizes it or not.
