This was So Darn Good! I knew it would be and I was looking forward to their story. Besides the suspense, they're also dealing with plenty of angst.
Broody, stoic Walker Ironside is enjoying his time back in Scotland after years of traveling the world as a bodyguard. Working at Ardnoch Estates keeps him busy and content what he doesn't want is the distraction of single mother Sloane Harrow.
Sloane became a mother as a teenager and had to grow up fast. And she had to leave California just as fast to escape her daughter's dangerous father. They love living in Scotland. The Adairs have welcomed them as family. She enjoys her job at the estate, she has a cozy cottage and a blossoming baking business. She also has a crush on Walker but he seems immune to her charms.
However after Sloane is attacked, Walker takes it upon himself to protect Sloane and her daughter. He wants to shield them from their past because, despite all his reasons to stay away, he loves Sloane and Callie.
