I could not put this down! I loved it. Alban is a Scottish grump and Leora is a single mother. Their fated mates! I loved Dorie and Hamish but I did struggle with Tara. Every time she tried to get between this couple I wanted to scream. But thankfully it all works out in end.
Leora has been living under strict religious circumstances and with an abusive husband. When a newer female delivers a letter to her from her sister, Leora is afraid of what her benefactor will do to her or their daughter. She flees with her to Scotland, where they'll be far from that pack and under the protection of her Queen sister.
Alban is fleeing to his isolated cabin from all the activity disrupting his usually tranquil town. Never expecting to find his cabin occupied by a she-wolf and her child. She's hurt and he must help her heal and watch over her daughter.
His wolf wants her so he starts trying to avoid her but he can only avoid her for so long.
When her heat comes he must finally claim her before anyone else steal her away.
Just as things are started to turn around for Leora, her daughter, and her new family the past comes back to haunt her.
