Whoa... this book was amazing. Dark and delicious, please check your triggers.
The Before part of the book is their introduction to each other and pretty dark. Her father is physically abusive and they witness a brutal death.
The After part gives us a red wedding situation. Another brutal death but plenty of steamy/spicy scenes between our couple.
Calix is most definitely a touch her and you die kinda guy and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
Calix and Thalia were children when their families arranged their marriage. Something about her stirred a need within him to protect her. But she was taken from him and he was banished from the city.
He's spent the last few years building alliances and power in order to get her back. He's managed to keep tabs and her and knows that she's been mistreated by her own father.
He's back to take back his kingdom and to make Thalia his.
