My Review
Sophia's Schooling by Maggie Sims
My rating: 5 of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was really looking forward to this book and when I saw Anabel Joseph's review I got pretty excited. Side note she wrote the Properly Spanked series that I really loved.
Sophie and Edward both have fears they aren't sharing with one another. She's afraid to love him and he's afraid that she'll learn his secret and leave him. It was a little heart-wrenching when he pulled away from her. I like that she didn't despair isn't she thought back to her lessons in negotiating to draw her husband back to her.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
After her father's death, Sophie must leave her country surroundings and in the home of her cousin/guardian and his new wife, in London. The plan is to help her find a husband even though she has no desire for a husband or romance.
Edward is the new Earl of Peterborough after the sudden death of his older brother. He's having a hard time running the estate. He has a secret that brings him shame and leaves him reluctant to marry. But he will eventually need heirs.
Sophie and Edward have a little run-in at the stables that intrigues Sophie when he mentions spanking her for entering a horse stall. She can't stop thinking about it, especially after what she witnessed between her cousin and his wife.
With every encounter, their attraction grows. Edward even tries to stay away but when they are discovered by her cousins passionately kissing he reluctantly agrees to marry her. At the suggestion of her cousin's wife, Sophie will attend the School of Enlightenment to get an education in love.
Thank you so much to the author and Grey's Promotion for this ARC to review.

Meet Maggie Sims
Maggie Sims began her love affair with romance before her teen years, drawn to the Regency by her mum's British influence. In her twenties, she did her best to live the Carrie Bradshaw life in New York City, albeit with less expensive shoes and more books.
Despite reading hundreds of romance novels in her life, she was still blown away when she met the love of her life, an ex-Marine cinnamon roll with creative culinary skills.
They live in Central Texas and are parents to a varying number of dogs and cats. When not writing, Maggie is a wine enthusiast and a travel junkie, and crochets sporadically for Knots of Love.
