So glad we got a book for Marcus. It was the book I didn't know I needed.
Marcus is now running his own team after Mateo stepped away.
He's running things a little differently and he's still getting used to being the boss.
He is just as intense and falls just as hard as Mateo in the first book. The difference is Melissa is someone he rescues from a trafficking ring. The moment that he holds her in his arms, he knows he'll stop at nothing to keep her safe. Even breaking protocol and taking her to his apartment and never leaving her side.
As she gains her strength back, Marcus and the commander Julian question her to try and figure out why she was taken and why she was kept separate from the rest of the women. She tells them that she was working undercover in the United States, investigating the disappearance of several young women.
But when she was selected, she was immediately knocked out and all the hidden tracking devices were removed from her person. Even a last-minute addition that not many people knew about. Leading her to believe that someone on her task force was working with the traffickers.
She wants to help Marcus and his team find the man responsible for this trafficking ring but Marcus is against it, to say the least.
