My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Whoa... This one drops you right in. Lily is prepared when Darius arrives for her, so the book opens when they are already on base. Lily is unpacking while they wait for their first mission. But she's barely spoken to him.

And of course, their chemistry is off the charts and we don't have to wait too long to get it. But they are not without some issues. Darius suffered the loss of his previous partner and is way overprotective of Lily.

And because of her upbringing, she misunderstands his intentions. Leaving her ready to walk away from him and the Starfighter program.
